Celebrating our Seniors President at 90

Seniors President Jim Mash celebrates 90th birthday

To celebrate the 90th birthday of our Senior’s President Jim Mash on Tuesday 17th March the seniors played on Monday 16th March a Texas scramble from the blue tees with a scratch team handicap. Fifty seniors took part in the game in eleven teams of 4 and two teams of 3, one of the teams of 3 included Jim partnering the Seniors Chairman and the Seniors Secretary.

All thirteen teams managed to record a score of even par or better and in a very close contest only two shots separated first from third place and only 5 shots separated the top ten teams. The winning four ball with a score of 8 under par was Arwyn Thomas, Bob Dukeson, Barry McAvoy and Graham Setter.

After the golf the seniors presented Jim with and enjoyed a piece of a very tasty golf themed birthday cake made by chef Roly’s daughter and a glass of whisky from Jim.

Jim Mash and John Thompson (right) both celebrated turning 90 this week.
